RedMagic is set to release its next gaming smartphone in a few days. Ahead of its full July 3 unveiling, the RedMagic 9S Pro has surfaced on AnTuTu with a recording-breaking score as the RedMagic 9S Pro Plus thanks to its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version chipset, 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 flash storage.

It is no secret that RedMagic has a series of devices in the latter stages of development, such as a follow-up to the RedMagic 9 Pro (curr. $749 on Amazon). For context, not only has the company teased a new RedMagic Realm gaming monitor on Chinese social media, but it has also teased a 'Phantom Blade' console controller and a new 16-inch gaming laptop. Based on the company's flood of Weibo announcements, it seems that all these devices will debut on July 3 at 11:00, including the RedMagic 9S Pro.

To recap, the handset has already stopped by Geekbench sporting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version, a first outing for the unreleased chipset. Now, a model that AnTuTu refers to as the RedMagic 9S Pro Plus has swept through its V10 benchmark with an unmatched score of almost 2.4 million points. In short, the CPU clock speeds shown by AnTuTu mirror those that Geekbench revealed, save for a few rounding differences.

Ultimately, it appears that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy by another name. Nonetheless, the RedMagic 9S Pro Plus outscores the likes of the Galaxy S24 Ultra by almost 600,000 points, likely because of its active cooling and memory configuration. Based on recent RedMagic gaming smartphone releases, we suspect that this 'Pro Plus' variant is nothing more than a trim level to market its optional 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage SKU. As such, both it and the regular RedMagic 9S Pro should feature an upgraded under-panel front-facing camera with an alleged 30% improved image clarity and a huge 6,500 mAh battery.
