RedMagic Gaming Laptop 16 Pro debuts as company's first laptop with "MacBook-level" build quality

The RedMagic Gaming Laptop 16 Pro has been shown off at the MWC Shanghai 2024 event. It's the first gaming laptop from the company, and it comes with performance-focused specs. More specifically, it packs Intel Core i9 14900HX, which is a top-end processor from the Raptor Lake series.

RedMagic has paired that CPU with the Nvidia RTX 4070, a high-end laptop GPU. This gaming laptop sports a "6 series aviation-grade aluminum alloy" chassis, and the company says that it presents a "MacBook-level" craftmanship (8 GB 2024 MacBook Air curr. $949 on Amazon). The official renders and the demo unit shown at the event showcase a sleek build.

Moreover, the official renders showcased the unit in two colorways: black and white. Both of them have an RGB backlit keyboard. Besides, the Gaming Laptop 16 Pro has a generous number of ports, including multiple USB-A ports, two USB-C, Ethernet, and a HDMI port.

As for the screen, RedMagic equipped the gaming laptop with a 16-inch panel that features a 2.5K resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 16:10 ratio. The company hasn't shared pricing details yet, and we don't know whether it will be landing outside China. However, the launch is set for July 3, so we don't need to wait much to learn more about it.
