RedMagic 'Phantom Blade' console controller leaks with a transparent design and 1,000Hz polling rate

As per a new leak, RedMagic will release its first-ever console controller on July 3. Dubbed "Phantom Blade", the controller is expected to debut alongside the 9S Pro gaming smartphone and an AI gaming laptop at the RedMagic launch event. For now, there is a poster with hints at the design and some standout features of the controller.

The 'Phantom Blade' controller will reportedly have Hall-effect joysticks, which would mean improved control over in-game movements compared to traditional joystick designs. It reduces the risk of stick drift as well, implying the controller will last longer. A 'Dual-mode Trigger' is also mentioned, which would mean a micro trigger and a linear trigger combination. Micro triggers provide quicker actuation for rapid-fire games, while linear triggers offer more nuanced control for racing or action-adventure titles. The third and final feature revealed by the poster is the 1,000Hz reporting rate. If rumors are true, users can expect this controller to be pretty responsive because of low input lag.

The design is definitely an eye-catcher. There's no surprise here though, RedMagic has a knack for see-through designs with the RedMagic 9 Pro as one of the latest examples (it got a rating of 87% in our review). The transparent shell showcases what appears to be the circuit board of the 'Phantom Blade'. It could also be an aesthetic housing unit for other components inside. The RGB light strips and the vibration motors, however, are clearly visible. There's a charging stand for the the wireless controller with a USB-A port.

The details from the leaked poster only cover performance and aesthetics. If the leak holds weight, more details, such as its battery life, console compatibility, and pricing will be revealed during RedMagic's July 3rd launch conference.
