The first shot of HMD's next mid-range smartphone has leaked online. Supposedly called the HMD Atlas, the device is said to retail for under $250 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and a 48 MP camera, as well as 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

A fresh leak has revealed new details about one of HMD Global's next smartphones. To recap, SuomiMobiil detailed HMD Nighthawk and HMD Skyline, a pair of mid-range options that reportedly shared 120 Hz OLED displays and 108 MP primary cameras. Please note that while Skyline was said to be the device's release name, Nighthawk represented the other device's codename.

Based on an allegedly leaked promotional slide, HMD Global may introduce Nighthawk as the HMD Atlas. Ultimately, the HMD Atlas' design resembles that of the existing Pulse Pro (curr. $9.99 on Amazon for 5 tempered screen protector pack). As such, it has a flat back, flat display and a large camera housing to say that is only protecting two lenses. However, the HMD Atlas has thinner display bezels and a matte back panel with a textured finish.

The HMD Atlas will be more powerful than the Pulse Pro too thanks to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. Supposedly, the HMD Atlas will feature an IPS display though, as well as a 48 MP primary camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide and a 16 MP selfie camera. The same leaker adds that the HMD Atlas will retail for $239.99, for which HMD Global will also include a 5,500 mAh battery, a 3.5 mm jack and 128 GB of storage. A release date remains unknown for now, though.
