Finnish website SuomiMobiili has delivered new details about HMD Global's Nokia Lumia throwback. For context, the device is known as the HMD Skyline, or by its codename 'HMD Tomcat' and model number 'TA-1688'. While rumours about the device only surfaced last month, SuomiMobiili believes that the HMD Skyline could launch as early as this summer.
Supposedly, HMD Global has developed the HMD Skyline around the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, a 4 nm chipset that Qualcomm announced late last year with four ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores that can boost to 2.4 GHz and 2 GHz, respectively. For reference, we have already tested the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 in our recent Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G review.
Additionally, the HMD Skyline is expected to complement its chipset with a 1080p and 120 Hz OLED display, along with a 4,900 mAh battery that supports 33 W wired charging. Moreover, the handset is said to feature 108 MP primary, 8 MP secondary, 2 MP tertiary and 32 MP front-facing cameras, plus an in-display fingerprint sensor and IP67 certification against dust and water ingress. Reportedly, the HMD Skyline will debut on July 10 with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and an approximate €520 MSRP.
