itel releases new affordable 5G smartphone with Pixel 11-inspired design and 120 Hz display

Transition Holdings’ sub-brand itel has introduced its latest budget-range 5G smartphone, the Citi 300 5G, in India. First let’s talk about the design. The Citi 300 5G appears to draw inspiration from Google’s Pixel 11 (curr. at $899 on Amazon), particularly around the rear camera module. Speaking more precisely, the phone boasts a horizontal pill-shaped camera bar, featuring a 13 MP rear camera complemented by an LED flash. Upfront, there is an 8 MP snapper for selfies and video chats.
The 5-enabled smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T8200 octa-core processor paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of storage. It runs Android 16 Go Edition out of the box, but the brand has not provided any information regarding its software support. The Citi 300 5G has a 6.67-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixel resolution) LCD display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
A decent 5,000 mAh battery powers the entire unit and supports only 10 W wired charging. Furthermore, the device supports 10 5G bands and NRCA technology. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, up to 8 GB virtual RAM, WiFi 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, and a single speaker.
As for price, the itel City 300 5G is priced at ₹14,999 ($160) for the 4 GB + 64 GB model. However, there’s a 6 GB + 128 GB model available, but the brand has yet to reveal the price. Interested buyers can choose from dark ruby, mist beige, and bold indigo colorways. The device is now available for purchase via offline retailers, and the company says its retail network covers more than 130K outlets and includes over 1K service centers across India.
