Zelda: Ocarina of Time trailer gives new look at dungeons in Switch 2 remake

Fans have debated how Nintendo would recreate the memorable dungeons in the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. While earlier trailers offered glimpses of these locations, a new YouTube short focuses strictly on the temples. The Switch 2 game boasts massive visual upgrades, but explorers can expect more than cosmetic changes on its release date.

Called “Test Thy Courage”, the video is a speed run through many of the levels. Players see revamped gameplay and combat mechanics in action as Link solves puzzles and faces off against bosses.
The brief Zelda: Ocarina of Time trailer begins Inside the The Great Deku Tree with its trademark spiderweb stretching across the ground. Viewers are then taken on a guided tour of the Forest Temple before entering Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly. The YouTube short also features the Water Temple and Fire Temple.
Manual jumping is one of the modernized controls Nintendo revealed at the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct. The footage of the Switch 2 game confirms leaping is critical in the dungeons, as Link leaps between platforms. However, N64 loyalists will likely be able to revert to the classic scripted jumps.
Previews have discussed how third-person aiming is now available with the fairy bow. “Test Thy Courage” shows how players can stay aware of their surroundings without sacrificing accuracy. The refreshed gameplay mechanics and camera options apply to the hookshot gadget.
Mysteries remain with this Zelda remake
Despite the Ocarina of Time trailer providing clues, it's unclear whether Nintendo has significantly expanded the dungeons. The layouts may have undergone minor adjustments, and some new rooms are possible. One additional announced destination is the Hall of Fallen Heroes. There, Link can view defeated bosses and challenge them to rematches.
Some fans worry the N64-era foes will prove too predictable on the Ocarina of Time remake release date. Their attack patterns often repeat, leading to inevitable victories. The responsive controls could also make it easier to defend against their assaults. Still, previews have hinted at more cunning enemies, which may extend to the bosses.
