Xiaomi launching new 16-inch laptop with Intel Wildcat Lake

It seems that Xiaomi is on the verge of launching a new Redmi Book 16. For context, the company introduced the Redmi Book Pro 16 earlier this year. As we discussed at the time, the Redmi Boko Pro 16 2026 leverages Intel's Panther Lake platform, up to an including the Core Ultra X7 358H with Intel's Arc B390 iGPU.
By contrast, early benchmark results indicate that the Redmi Book 16 2027 will be launching with Intel's Wildcat Lake platform. Specifically, the 16-inch laptop has been spotted with the Core 5 320, a 6-core processor that we have already reviewed inside Dell's cheapest XPS 13 (curr. $839 on Amazon).
Moreover, Geekbench reports that the Redmi Book 16 2027 also contains 16 GB of DDR5 RAM. Hence, the 16-inch laptop should feature upgradeable RAM, unlike its Panther Lake-based counterpart. Other specifications remain unknown for now. However, we would expect the Redmi Book 16 2027 to retain some of its predecessor's hardware, which includes an 80 Wh battery with support for 100 W charging.
According to our benchmarks, the Core 5 320 should ensure that Xiaomi's 2027 model runs more efficiently than its Core Ultra 5 125H-based predecessor, albeit with reduced multi-core performance. Xiaomi equips the Redmi Book 16 2026 with a 1600p, 400-nit and 120 Hz IPS display, too. Unfortunately, the company has not started teasing its new Redmi Book 16 yet.
