Xiaomi confirms new Redmi Book laptops with Intel Wildcat Lake

Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date of its upcoming Redmi Book 2027 series. The company has confirmed that its next-generation laptops will arrive on October 27 at 19:00 Chinese time [presumably, Beijing's GMT/UTC+8]. The announcement comes just days after the Redmi Book 16 2027 appeared on Geekbench, revealing key specs such as an Intel Core 5 320 processor and 16 GB of DDR5-4800 memory.
The promotional material specifically mentions a Redmi Book 14, confirming that Xiaomi is preparing a smaller model alongside the16-inch variant. It also advertises a 72 Wh battery, a redesigned chassis and new colour options. Xiaomi is positioning the laptop as a productivity-oriented machine.
According to ITHome, Xiaomi’s latest teaser confirms that the Redmi Book 2027 series will feature Intel’s third-generation Wildcat Lake processors commonly found in budget laptops like the new Dell XPS 13. Depending on its price, the Redmi Book 14 could be a viable MacBook Neo competitor.
Interestingly, the teaser also gives us an early look at the laptop’s connectivity options. The Redmi Book 14 appears to retain two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, an HDMI output and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The 72 Wh battery is another noteworthy detail, although it is unclear whether this specification applies to both screen sizes.
Other specifications, including display resolution, memory and storage configurations, pricing and international availability, remain under wraps. Xiaomi should reveal the remaining details when the Redmi Book 2027 drops. For now, there's no mention of an international release.
