Vivo has launched a new tablet through its flagship 'Pad' brand. More affordable than the Pad3 Pro, the Vivo Pad3 leverages a powerful Snapdragon 8 series chipset, a 10,000 mAh battery and a display that not only outputs at 2.8K but also 144 Hz.

Vivo has released various Android devices this year, including flagship options like the X Fold3 Pro and the X100 Pro (curr. $925 on Amazon). Now, it has presented the Pad3, a cheaper alternative to the Pad3 Pro that arrived roughly three months ago. As expected, the Pad3 is slightly smaller than the Pad3 Pro, which features a 13-inch display within a 289.6 x 198.3 x 6.6 mm housing.

By contrast, Vivo has installed a 12.1-inch display inside the Pad3, which also measures 266.43 x 192 x 6.57 mm. Additionally, the Pad3 weighs 589.2 g, an 89.7 g and 13.2% decrease on the Pad3 Pro. Nonetheless, Vivo equips the former with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, as well as a 10,000 mAh battery that supports 44 W wired charging and a speaker setup that consists of two tweeters and four mid-bass drivers.

On top of that, the tablet's IPS display outputs at 2,800 x 1,968 pixels with a 283 PPI pixel density while delivering 600 nits peak brightness and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the Pad3 utilises LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 or UFS 4.0 storage, depending on the storage configuration chosen. Currently, Vivo is only offering the Pad3 in China with its Android 14-derived OriginOS 4 pre-installed. For reference, the tablet starts at CNY 2,499 (~$344) and is available in the following memory configurations:

  • 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage: CNY 2,499 (~$344)
  • 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage: CNY 2,799 (~$385)
  • 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage: CNY 3,099 (~$427)
  • 12 GB RAM/512 GB storage: CNY 3,399 (~$468)
