Xiaomi has already demoed 300W quick charge tech that can fully charge a phone in five minutes. The demo device was a Redmi smartphone that came with a 4100 mAh battery. But this demo was from last year, and we have yet to see a commercial phone enter the market with this fast charging tech.
Well, it seems that the wait might not be too long, as Francis Wong, the marketing head of Realme, has confirmed that the company’s 300W fast charging is in testing. This revelation comes from a recent interview that Francis attended with TheTechChap. However, he didn’t reveal much about the quick charge tech.
Worth noting that Realme already has the GT Neo 5, which has support for 240-watt fast charging (Anker Prime 240W available on Amazon). It can get the battery of the phone from 0 to 100 percent in less than 10 minutes. This smartphone launched back in February last year, and we could see the upcoming GT Neo 7 coming with the new 300W quick charge tech.
Of course, before the GT Neo 7 gets announced, Xiaomi could possibly release a new Redmi phone with the 300W fast charging tech that it demoed last year. But it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Realme being the first, as the company usually stays at the very front in terms of charging tech.
