Redmi 13: Xiaomi releases new mid-range smartphone running HyperOS with 108 MP camera
Xiaomi has now released the Redmi 13, not to be confused with the Redmi Note 13 4G (curr. $182.70 on Amazon) that it already sells globally. For reference, the company's official reveal occurred a few days after a Portuguese retailer listed the device in two memory configurations and three colours. However, Xiaomi has actually created one more of each.
Specifically, Xiaomi has designed Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Pearl Pink and Sandy Gold colour options for the Redmi 13, all with glass back panels and IP53 certification against dust and water ingress. Moreover, the 8.3 mm handset will reach some markets with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen in what markets this top memory configuration will be available.
As expected, the Redmi 13 boasts a 1080p IPS display that measures 6.79-inches across while delivering 550 nits peak brightness and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, Xiaomi equips the Redmi 13 with a 5,030 mAh battery and a 108 MP primary camera, a first for the Redmi series. In a press release, Xiaomi confirmed that the Redmi 13 starts at $179 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage; please see the company's product page for more hardware details.
