Reviews for the Oppo Find X9s

Ultimately, the OPPO Find X9s is best suited for users who prioritise a dependable camera system, smooth everyday performance, and a premium design over outright hardware advantages. However, those looking for the most well-rounded package at this price may find stronger value elsewhere in the market.

The OPPO Find X9s and Vivo X300 FE both position themselves as well-rounded sub-flagships that put camera performance, smooth everyday usage, and strong battery life at the centre of their appeal. However, they are not a one-size-fits-all proposition. The Vivo X300 FE feels more compact and modern in hand, with a sharper 1.5K LTPO display, faster wired charging, and the added convenience of wireless charging. Its camera system is more expressive, delivering punchy, contrast-heavy images, excellent portraits, and standout selfies. However, it is held back by a weaker ultrawide camera and less consistent exposure handling in challenging lighting conditions. The OPPO Find X9s, on the other hand, is the more balanced and technically consistent package, offering stronger cameras. It also shows better sustained performance under heavy workloads. That said, its design feels less compact, its display refresh rate handling is less efficient, and its portraits and selfies can occasionally appear softer than Vivo’s output.

The OPPO Find X9s succeeds in several areas, even though its positioning is immediately complicated by pricing. In India, the handset starts at Rs 79,999 for the 256GB variant, while the 512GB option climbs to Rs 89,999. At this level, it sits awkwardly above the OPPO Find X9, which offers a more powerful chipset, a superior main camera system, and the added convenience of wireless charging. That said, this is not a phone that feels under-equipped, though. The Find X9s delivers consistently strong, sustained performance, a bright and vivid AMOLED display, and a polished ColorOS experience that feels mature and well-optimised. The Hasselblad-tuned camera system remains one of its strongest arguments, offering dependable results across most shooting conditions. However, I wish it had a more durable battery life, advanced LTPO technology, wireless charging support, and equally capable portrait and low light camera performance. If those are your priorities, along with a relatively handy phone, the Vivo X300 FE (review), which also retails at the same asking price. If you can make your peace with its shortcomings, the OPPO Find X9s remains an easy phone to like. With a 10 percent instant bank discount (as part of the launch offer), the handset can be purchased at just Rs 71,999.

The OPPO Find X9s offers a balanced mix of a capable camera system with reliable daylight performance, smooth day-to-day performance, and a clean display experience packed inside a relatively compact flagship form factor. Features like Master Mode and XPAN mode in camera, and the AI integrations across the user interface add meaningful value instead of feeling purely gimmicky. However, the phone is not without shortcomings. Thermal management under sustained workloads could have been better, low-light camera performance leaves room for improvement, the speaker output lacks punch, and the absence of Hasselblad Hi-Res mode is noticeable. That said, the Find X9s makes the most sense for users looking for a balanced premium Android smartphone with strong cameras, good battery life, and a manageable form factor rather than raw benchmark-focused performance.

The Oppo Find X9s is a smartphone that gets a lot of things right. It offers a premium and compact design, a vibrant display, good cameras, excellent battery life and a smooth overall experience. The phone feels comfortable to hold, easy to use for long hours and reliable enough to handle almost everything you throw at it without much trouble. However, what makes the Find X9s slightly difficult to judge is its positioning within Oppo’s own lineup. Apart from the processor, the Find X9s offers almost identical specifications to the standard Oppo Find X9. The display, cameras, battery capacity, charging speeds and overall experience remain largely similar. That naturally makes the pricing harder to justify, especially when the regular Find X9 is available at a lower price while also delivering noticeably better real-world and benchmark performance. And this creates a situation where it becomes slightly difficult to recommend the Find X9s over the standard Find X9 unless you specifically prefer its colour options or simply want the latest addition in the lineup. Again, don’t get me wrong, for what it’s worth, the Oppo Find X9s is still a very capable compact flagship smartphone. It focuses more on balance, comfort, battery life and overall usability rather than chasing raw performance numbers. But at its current pricing, the regular Find X9 feels like the more sensible choice. Unless Oppo decides to discontinue the standard model, then we’ll have a different debate. That’s a story for another time.

The OPPO Find X9s refines the X9 formula into a more compact and efficient package, powered by the Dimensity 9500s, which handles daily use, gaming, and multitasking with ease. Its premium design features a stunning 6.59-inch near-bezel-less display, while the Hasselblad-tuned 50MP triple camera system excels in photography, delivering sharp images. With an exceptional 7025 mAh battery, it delivers impressive all-day performance and fast charging. Although the camera hardware lags behind Pro models in certain scenarios and the processor prioritizes efficiency over peak power, the X9s remains a strong recommendation for those seeking a balanced, travel-friendly flagship at a more affordable price, making it an excellent value among oversized competitors

Why are Chinese brands launching pricier versions of older models with lesser capability than the premium models that went on sale half a year ago? Personally, I feel that these devices, although more expensive and less capable than their flagship counterparts, will stand by as replacements when existing stocks of the Vivo X300 and the Oppo Find X9 deplete. Once this happens, buyers will have to adapt to the higher-priced gear that's been launched today or simply look for devices over Rs. 1 lakh to get flawless imaging, as memory prices are expected to climb even higher in the coming year. This also means we can expect Vivo's X400 and Oppo Find X10 to be sold at eye-watering prices, rather than the Sub Rs. 80,000 prices they retailed at in late 2025 and early 2026. The Oppo Find X9s's case is a bit different from Vivo's X300 FE. The X200 FE was launched in India at Rs. 54,999 in 2025, while the X300 FE was launched at Rs. 79,999, a big price hike of Rs.

So, after going through every aspect of the Oppo Find X9s, it appears that Oppo has got almost everything covered with the device. You get an impressive display, good cameras, and decent battery life. While it is no OnePlus 15 in terms of performance, it has more than enough power to handle whatever you throw at it. And ColorOS 16 only makes it more fun to use. At a time when it is getting quite difficult for phone makers to deliver bang for buck with devices, the Find X9s is a phone that tries to cover all grounds. And in that aspect, it does the job. While the flagship smartphone segment may be getting crowded in India, the Oppo Find X9s can find its place as a phone that quietly delivers on what it promises, without trying to turn too many heads.

At Rs 79,999, the OPPO Find X9s delivers an excellent all-round experience that borrows heavily from the brand’s more expensive flagship devices. There’s very little to complain about here, and when a device leaves you struggling to point out flaws, it usually means it stands among the best options in its price segment.

The cameras on the OPPO X9s remain one of the most well-rounded in the sub-flagship segment. Its biggest strength lies in consistency, with both primary and ultrawide cameras producing sharp and balanced images with realistic tones, outperforming rivals such as the Vivo X300 FE. However, it’s not a very easy recommendation to make in the X9 series, given that you have a more capable camera phone in the Find X9, which is also cheaper. The OPPO phone’s telephoto camera doesn’t bring the best-in-class performance. While it captures pleasing portraits with solid edge detection, the lens is occasionally prone to softness or aggressive sharpening. The Hasselblad mode can fix some of these processing issues, but images might appear less punchy and not ideal for immediate social media postings. Low-light photography is another area where the Find X9s could use some refinement, particularly when it comes to controlling lens flare and maintaining accurate colours. Despite that, the overall camera experience remains impressive, extending to selfies and video recording as well. Features such as XPan mode and Master Mode further elevate the experience for users who enjoy experimenting with photography beyond simple point-and-shoot usage. All of these aspects make the OPPO Find X9s achieve a strong balance between camera hardware, software optimisation, and overall usability. While it may not dethrone true flagships or consistently outclass every rival across all scenarios, for users seeking a dependable and versatile camera-focused smartphone, the Find X9s deserves attention. The handset is priced in India starting at Rs 79,999.

Well then, we’ve arrived at the end – should you buy the OPPO Find X9s? It’s a bit difficult to come to a conclusion. I’ll lay out everything on the screen here so we can see properly. The OPPO Find X9s is at RM3,699 for the 512GB, and the Find X9 is at RM3,999 for an unknown storage capacity since it’s not listed. Between these two… they’re actually very similar to each other. Assuming that the Find X9 at RM3,999 is indeed 512GB as well, then I’d go for the Find X9. OPPO Find X9s review - a more budget option? 25 But, we do have other alternatives in the market right now. There’s the Xiaomi 17 which is lower in price, then we also have the Samsung Galaxy S26 with the ever One UI but we’ll have to hunt for a deal since the official retail price is crazy high. Prices of smartphones are weird this year, mainly due to the unforeseen memory crisis.

If you’re seeking a capable flagship that has superb battery life, an excellent LTPS AMOLED display and a capable set of Hasselblad-tuned cameras, the Oppo Find X9s is a highly capable choice. While it faces stiff competition among other budget flagships, it easily outguns most midrange models and offers a premium user experience with superb build quality and performance for the vast majority of users. Those who require more powerful cameras and more capable low light performance will appreciate what the pricier X9 and X9 Ultra models have to offer.
