Overall, the Oppo Find X9 Pro delivers a strong and well-balanced performance in the DXOMARK Camera tests, earning itself a spot in the top ten of our ranking. Very good photo results are characterized by accurate exposure, a wide dynamic range, nice color rendering, and a very good texture-to-noise compromise across most light conditions. Autofocus is generally reliable, and the high-resolution telephoto camera provides solid tele zoom capabilities. The ultra-wide camera delivers consistent color and exposure, but has a more limited field of view than some competitors, and some loss of fine detail is noticeable.

I didn’t get to test the optional Hasselblad camera kit accessory that transforms the main camera into a telephoto with 10x optical zoom and costs an extra €549. Even without it, Find X9 Pro is one of the consistently incredible smartphones you can buy for photography and many other things besides including the best battery stamina of 2025. Performance is blazing fast and the firm’s software is fast, fluid and well executed. Pardon the pun, but it will be difficult to Find a more capable and well-rounded flagship smartphone.

Oppo might not be the first name that springs to mind when you think flagship Android phone, but with the Find X9 Pro – perhaps it should be. If it wasn’t for another Oppo phone – the Oppo Find X8 Ultra – I would easily name the X9 Pro as the best camera phone of the year. Where other mainstream brands' cameras have somewhat stagnated over the last few generations, the X9 Pro feels like a breath of fresh air. Quality across all three cameras is excellent, with some of the best consistency between lenses I have seen yet; colors are natural, and thanks to the dedicated color spectrum camera, very accurate. By itself, the 200MP telephoto lens is an absolute star of the show, managing to pull so much detail out of subjects so far away, but combined with the optional Hasselblad telephoto adapter, it's a game-changer for phone photography, and an accessory I think everyone buying this phone should seek out.

So, should you buy the OPPO Find X9 Pro? Honestly, I’m kinda tempted to get one myself. Yes, the picture quality is great though there are some weird quirks like oversharpening in some scenarios, but the colors are great and the macro shots are also great. Of course, thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, the battery life and performance are also great. As for the price, it’s at RM5,099. It’s definitely up there with other flagship premium smartphones in the market today. As for the teleconverter lens, it’s a separate purchase and will be at RM999. I think the price tag is a bit hefty since it is essentially a lens that is only usable on the OPPO Find X9 Pro and nothing else (at least for now). Early birds can get it for RM799 only, which is still a bit hefty.

If you do happen to live in an area where Oppo sells its products, this is absolutely a phone to go for if you love big battery life on your premium smartphones. That's even more so if you're a photography fan, since it's on a level with the best from Samsung, Google and Apple, and can do even more than those phones if you want to buy the teleconverter kit. While other phones are trying to refine their existing hardware as much as possible without making big changes, Oppo has taken huge swings that have paid off.

It’s hard to say if you should buy the OPPO Find X9 Pro. There’s a lot of things at play here. For instance, I do not know pricing, but if it is competitive, then it is definitely a good option. If you have the Find X8 Pro, it might not be a worthwhile upgrade. Find X7 Pro and earlier, definitely worth it. This is a pretty incredible device, and one that I really, really wish was available in the US. But I have been using it on T-Mobile (Google Fi) here in the US for the past month, and it does work pretty well. So you can import it if you’d like.

The Oppo Find X9 Pro is easily one of my favourite phones of 2025 (and I’ve tried most of them). There’s not one area where this phone falls short. The battery life is outstanding, the performance is top-notch, the software is slick, and the cameras are stunning. Plus, there’s the amazing telephoto extender kit, which adds an extra level of versatility for keen photographers. The only real downsides are the lack of availability in the US and the shorter software support terms than some of the competition. If you’re on the fence and can afford the Find X9 Pro, just get it. This phone will not disappoint. As for whether this is the best camera phone available, that’s a harder question. I’m pretty comfortable saying it’s the best model currently sold in the UK, but globally, the Vivo X300 Pro is a hot contender, as is Oppo’s own Find X8 Ultra. In any case, you can expect some stunning shots, and that’s what it’s all about.

The Find X9 Pro comes with meaningful upgrades that allows it to stand out in general. The battery lasts two days, and that alone is a big enough differentiator that I see this phone doing really well in Asian countries. Combine that with the groundbreaking cameras, vibrant AMOLED panel with useful features, and the overhauled software, and this is a pretty great phone overall. Choosing between the Find X9 Pro and Vivo X300 Pro is down to your preferences of software and image tuning, and having used both devices extensively, I will admit that the Find X9 Pro makes a better case — mostly around the software. There's also the fact that you get a much bigger battery on the Find X9 Pro, and the phone handily beats the global X300 Pro in this area. As for whether it is better than the Pixel 10 Pro XL or Galaxy S25 Ultra, there's no doubt in my mind — the Find X9 Pro is leagues ahead of its Google and Samsung rivals.

It also charges reasonably fast for what's more like a powerbank-sized capacity - hardly any complaints there either. The OPPO Find X9 impressed me with its premium design, stunning AMOLED display, powerful Dimensity 9500 performance, and excellent battery life. I also really liked the front camera and portrait mode, which delivered crisp, social-media-ready photos, along with the rich set of AI features across the camera and system. I did notice some colour shifts and exposure inconsistencies in the main camera, especially between 1x and 2x shots, and low-light performance from the ultra-wide and telephoto could have been stronger. If it's pure value and specs you are chasing, then the Oppo Find X9 will not get you a big-screen experience. You will be happier with the OnePlus 15 or the Realme GT 8 Pro. Gaming, while excellent overall, is definitely more enjoyable on the GT 8 Pro thanks to its game frame interpolation feature. However, I prefer the Find X9's cameras to the Realme GT 8 Pro's camera system, as it wasn't consistent in quality. The new OnePlus 15 also falls in the same boat as the GT 8 Pro. However, you need to keep in mind that neither the OnePlus 15 nor the Realme GT 8 Pro is a true comparison, because the Oppo Find X9 belongs to the compact flagship segment.

If you are planning to get a new 2025/2026 flagship phone, the OPPO Find X9 could be one of the most attractive packages available. For RM3699, you can enjoy all the flagship-class features and hardware, such as the fast performance provided by the Dimensity 9500 chipset, 80W fast charging and most importantly, the incredible Hasselblad camera quality. In our opinion, the Find X9 offers greater value than the RM4999 Find X9 Pro. The only significant advantage the Pro variant has is its 200MP telephoto camera's ability to take clearer zoom photos. So, if that's not something you prioritise, just go for the standard Find X9.

In the end, I think the Oppo Find X9’s biggest problem has nothing to do with how good it is as a phone. It’s an exceptional piece of hardware. The biggest issue for me is that it’s very similar to the Find X9 Pro. It’s not much smaller than the ‘Pro’-labelled bigger sibling, it’s got the same processor, and a lot of the same features. It’s left me a bit confused as to why both exist, and if there has to be a non-Pro, why it’s not significantly cheaper with a few more compromises? It’s to the point where – having used both – despite some of the features being slightly better on the Pro version, I’d rather save a little money and get largely the same device. I can live without a dedicated camera button or the slightly better zoom camera for a lighter, smaller device with pretty much all the same features.

All things considered, we believe that the OPPO Find X9 is sick! It’s pretty favorable across the board with the only cons so far being its camera module redesign and lacking a loud sound stage. Now then, both of these things can be subjective and will boil down to user preference. What doesn’t lie is numbers, and the Find X9 proved to deliver a satisfying experience thanks to its fresh software skin and a powerful chipset, combined with a long battery life. You could argue that improvements to its display and cameras were incremental, but they didn’t do that bad last year. That said, I’d understand if OPPO didn’t want to change these as much. How does the saying go? If it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it. However, the Find X9’s pricing is pretty steep.

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra makes the strongest all-round case than any other Ultra-class phone reviewed this year. The penta-camera system with a native 10x optical zoom means you never have to choose between reach and convenience. The display is the best currently available on a smartphone. ColorOS 16 is smooth and thoughtful, and it handles the details that matter in daily use better than most rivals. The 7,050mAh battery delivers impressive endurance, consistently outlasting the Vivo X300 Ultra in real-world conditions. If you are deciding between the Find X9 Ultra and the Vivo X300 Ultra, the choice comes down to what kind of photographer you are. The X300 Ultra, especially with the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Kit, can reach focal lengths no phone can match natively. But it requires planning, patience, and additional investment. The X9 Ultra does not ask any of that. You pick it up, point it, and it delivers exceptional results at every focal length from ultrawide to 10x, in any lighting condition, without a setup process. For most photographers, that is the more compelling proposition. The five-year OS update commitment is the one area where OPPO falls short relative to competitors at this price point, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Everything else earns its price tag. And if you can get a good deal at offline retail stores that brings the price down to around Rs 1,40,000 or lower, the Find X9 Ultra is easily the flagship phone to buy this year.

I came back impresses after testing the Find X8 Ultra last year, and the OPPO Find X9 Ultra has come a long way, building on a strong camera foundation. Even when compared to other ultra-flagships I have used recently, the Find X9 Ultra’s camera system stands out for its more natural colours, better zoom usability, and overall consistency. At the same time, this isn’t a phone for everyone. It is expensive (at Rs 169,999), large, heavy, and clearly built around a very specific idea. But if your priority is photography, this is easily one of the most complete camera experiences you can get on a smartphone right now. It doesn’t feel like a phone trying to imitate a camera, it feels like a camera that just happens to do everything else as well.

With its remarkable performance, enduring battery life, fantastic cameras, and excellent feature set, it’s easily one of the best flagship Android phones you can buy right now. Crucially, the Find X9 Ultra compares favourably against the competition. Samsung’s S26 Ultra is also exceedingly competent, but apart from its Privacy Display feature and incredible Horizon Lock video stabilisation, it doesn’t have that wow factor that buyers of these types of phones crave. Given its stronger focus on photography, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is arguably the keener competitor. However, not all may like the 17 Ultra’s application of Leica’s colour science, and there’s no question the Find X9 Ultra has the more impressive camera system – 4 vs 3 cameras. Furthermore, while the 17 Ultra also has a photography kit, it’s a more basic setup that only adds buttons and a battery. The OPPO teleconverter kit is a considerably more serious piece of a photography accessory.

If it’s not the very best camera phone that money can buy, it’s definitely in the top three, thanks to its cutting-edge camera hardware, a powerful app, and a familiar assortment of software smarts. I might not love every aspect of the redesigned UI or overabundance of pre-installed apps, but the exquisite design, multi-day battery life, and top-tier performance make this more than just a great camera phone — it’s a premium all-around flagship too. Along with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra (€1499 at Xiaomi) and vivo X300 Ultra (€1999 at Amazon), Chinese camera phones are really leveling up the mobile photography experience. These are undoubtedly OPPO’s closest rivals, as both have doubled down on large, next-gen 200MP camera arrays with impressive long-range zoom capabilities. They also offer similarly powerful processing hardware, super-fast charging, and large batteries that can keep you going for two days of solid use.

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra serves up better camera hardware on paper, and I already gushed all over it in my review. However, the Vivo X300 Ultra uses the same main sensor and is certainly one of the best phones in 2026 for snapping photos and video.

For me, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is hands down the best camera phone I’ve used yet. Does a phone need four cameras? It depends on who you ask, but now that I have spent a few weeks with the phone, my resounding answer is yes. The 3x camera is phenomenal, the 10x camera zoom range is incredibly useful, and the quality far exceeds any digital zoom. Hasselblad Master mode is also a standout; it finally gives me exactly the kind of less-processed, more camera-like images with custom film recipes I've been wanting from a flagship phone. Add in superb video, excellent battery life, a gorgeous screen, and a design in Tundra Umber that I absolutely love, and Oppo has made my perfect camera phone. It is not completely flawless. Standard mode can still look too processed for my taste, the teleconverter integration is more limited than it should be, and there are still some minor settings tweaks I'd love to see. But if your priority is having the most capable, most versatile, most photography-focused phone possible, the Find X9 Ultra is exceptionally hard to argue against.

The display is one of the best you’ll find anywhere, performance is top-tier thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and battery life is genuinely standout, easily pushing into two-day territory for most users. But the real story here is the camera system. With a stacked setup that includes multiple high-resolution sensors and true long-range zoom, the Find X9 Ultra feels less like a smartphone camera and more like a dedicated camera you happen to carry in your pocket. That said, it’s not perfect. Thermals can get a bit aggressive under heavy load, the vegan leather back doesn’t feel as premium as expected, and OPPO’s decision to ditch things like the alert slider still stings. More importantly, availability is going to be a major question mark. While OPPO is expanding globally, it’s still not fully available everywhere – especially in North America – which makes it harder to recommend for a lot of people. So, should you buy it? If you care about camera performance above everything else and can actually get your hands on one, the Find X9 Ultra is arguably the best smartphone camera available right now. But if you want a more balanced experience with wider availability, stronger ecosystem support, and fewer compromises, something like a Galaxy or iPhone is still the safer bet.

It’s let down by the software, which has some frustrating problems, but these can realistically be solved in a future update. Plus, previous experience has told me not everyone will see these issues arise. It’s also a big, heavy phone, even by modern standards. Forget all about this, and just enjoy what is one of the most complete, exciting, desirable, and expensive flagship camera phones of the year.

That said, it’s not perfect. Thermals can get a bit aggressive under heavy load, the vegan leather back doesn’t feel as premium as expected, and OPPO’s decision to ditch things like the alert slider still stings. More importantly, availability is going to be a major question mark. While OPPO is expanding globally, it’s still not fully available everywhere – especially in North America – which makes it harder to recommend for a lot of people. So, should you buy it? If you care about camera performance above everything else and can actually get your hands on one, the Find X9 Ultra is arguably the best smartphone camera available right now. Mobile movie makers might feel better served by the X300 Ultra (if it’s available in their territory), while Xiaomi’s Leitzphone commits harder to the camera brand tie-in through Leica-badged theme and widgets – though you pay even more for it. All three take superb stills; the winner in any given shooting scenario often falls to personal preference on colour treatment. They also highlight how much ground Google, Samsung and Apple have lost by prioritising algorithmic image processing over cutting-edge sensor hardware. I’d still spring for the Oppo, though. Only serious snappers will be able to justify the high cost of entry, but that 10x zoom is just so versatile.

In isolation, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is an excellent piece of tech, albeit pricier than other Ultras. It's not just a great cameraphone, it's a great all-rounder, too. It has an extra-long battery life, fast charging, a great display, although the full 144Hz is rarely utilized, and offers a nice, customizable software experience, which will get about five major upgrades in the future. However, if video quality is on top of your priority list, that may not be the Find X9 Ultra's forte. Videos are soft-ish across the board, or at least they are not on an "ultra" level. It's too early to say whether it's the best camera-centric phone in the first half of the year, but it's definitely up there with the best, and honestly, that should be enough. Still, we suggest waiting for all Ultras to hit the market before digging deep into your pockets. But among the big three cameraphones, the gaps are so small that it will probably boil down to preferences regarding design, software, your favorite focal lengths and features more than anything else.

The biggest difference between this almighty mobile and the Pro model appears to be the camera hardware. Not too surprising given the size of that bump. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra will apparently sport a PAIR of 200MP sensors, one for the regular wide shooter and one for the telephoto snapper. That main sensor is the same Sony Lytia effort slapped in the Vivo X300 Ultra, which I reviewed just yesterday - so check that out for an idea of what to expect vs the OPPO Find X9 Ultra! In other areas, this phone appears to be similar to the Pro model. That display should be another stunner, while the battery capacity is slightly reduced for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra. Hopefully still more than good enough for all day play, however.
