The Reno12 series of Android 14 smartphones is on the way to a new market, and its new OPPO AI features are coming with it. They are touted to feature some of the most powerful, almost magical, photo-editing features around, and also to make a user's life easier in other ways thanks to the integration of Google Gemini.

The Reno12 series of smartphones are touted as the devices best placed to take mobile AI to the mainstream in 2024. They will succeed handsets that currently start at INR 27,200 (~$326 new, or INR 23,899 (~$287) refurbished) on Amazon.in, yet pack the same kind of practically "Magic" photo-editing features normally associated with higher-end models such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

OPPO has confirmed that the Reno12 line-up will use their up-to-date MediaTek platforms to deliver a range of in-demand AI features to the Indian market. They include AI Eraser 2.0 and AI Best Face, which are the OEM's equivalent of Magic Eraser and Best Take respectively.

The Reno12 and probably 12 Pro will also support AI Studio so that a user can convert a selfie into a custom avatar, while AI Clear Face should be able to draw realistic detail out of every individual face in a group shot.

The devices are also rated to handle productivity-friendly features such as AI Speak for dictation and AI Summary to help study a subject thanks to the integration of Google's Gemini assistant.

The Reno12 series will also pack new 50MP main cameras and 80W wired charging in a slightly retro design on their release, on a date still to be determined by OPPO's exclusive launch partner Flipkart.
