Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro rumoured to gain Creative Assistant AI upon release

Currently, four new Pixel smartphones are anticipated to land this autumn. To recap, the series is rumoured to feature the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro at launch. However, the Pixel 9 Pro will be a rival to the iPhone 16 Pro rather than a Pixel 8 Pro (curr. $749.99 on Amazon) successor. Additionally, there will be the Pixel 9 Pro XL, the true Pixel 8 Pro successor, and a Pixel Fold follow-up sold as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

According to Android Authority, these devices will all receive exclusive AI features thanks to their joint reliance on Google's Tensor G4 chipset. With that being said, there is every chance that recent Pixel devices will gain the same functionality at some stage, as has been the case with Magic Eraser this year, among other AI features. Specifically, Android Authority has discovered references to a new app dubbed 'Creative Assistant' within Android 15 Beta 3, which is earmarked as a Pixel-exclusive.

Please note that the latest Android 15 beta does not contain a working version of Creative Assistant. Nonetheless, the code snippets that have been seen describe Creative Assistant as being capable of transforming images and screenshots into stickers, as well as generating emojis from inputted text. Purportedly, this functionality will be accessible directly in Android's markup tool and possibly even in Google Photos, rather than in a dedicated Creative Assistant app.
