Huawei touts the latest version of its MateBook X Pro as the ultimate ultrabook as it weighs just 34.6 ounces (or 980 grams (g)) - however, it is about to be dethroned by an upcoming, possibly very similarly-named, rival from Honor. The allegedly outed addition to the MagicBook line might also debut as an "AI PC" and come packed with "exclusive" tech.

Honor's extra-thin and light Magic V3 Android foldable smartphone might be joined on its launch by its laptop equivalent, according to leading tipster Digital Chat Station.

The leaker claims to have had some hands-on time with this putative new MagicBook, and found it to be both slimmer than the 13.5 millimeter (mm) Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024 and also to weigh less than that laptop's 980g.

It is also slated to land as an "AI PC", which, while more predictable, invites speculation as to whether it will also counter the MateBook X Pro 2024 with a Meteor Lake platform - or possibly even launch as Honor's inaugural Snapdragon X-series machine.

In any case, the allegedly Pro X-grade MagicBook, which will apparently boast the fruits of ~30 of Honor's patents, is now thought to debut as soon as July 2024 - possibly even alongside Honor's first-ever foldable laptop, according to the latest rumors

Meanwhile, the Honor Magic6 Pro has now hit Amazon at a price of exactly $1,000 (correct at the time of writing).
