Infinix has announced that a more affordable version of its inaugural MagCharge smartphone is about to hit the Indian market. The Note 40 5G also boasts a 120Hz AMOLED display and a 108MP main rear camera next to an AI-enhanced rear Halo Light LED. It can be ordered with a limited-time free gift in a few days.

The Infinix Note 40 5G is slated to become available very soon, starting for as little as INR 15,999 (~$192, with banking discounts and exchange) with 8GB of RAM as opposed to INR 22,998 (~$275) for its Pro sibling on Amazon.in.

Despite that, both smartphones offer the same "Bezel-less" (well, low-bezel thanks to a curved panel) 6.78-inch FHD+ display with 1,300 nits of peak brightness driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC.

Then again, the Note 40 5G's 5,000mAh battery has 33W wired charging compared to 45W in the 40 Pro, and comes in Titan Gold or Obsidian Black glass rather than vegan leather in colors such as Vintage Green. In addition, while both devices have the same cameras, the Note 40 lacks the main shooter OIS of the Pro variant.

Nevertheless, the 40 5G boasts the vaguely Nothing-style, multi-purpose Halo Light and in-house MagCharge developed by Infinix for its latest-generation Notes.

To that end, a certain number of early Note 40 5G adopters via Flipkart from June 26, 2024 will find a free MagPad wireless charger in their package - although the Android 14 smartphone can only draw up to 15W from it as opposed to 20W of the Pro version.
