Infinix and BMW's Designworks have teamed up again to present second-gen limited editions of the former's latest Android smartphones.
Gone are the recessed LEDs under vegan leather of the first-gen VIP Racing Edition; then again, the refresh applies to the entire Note 40 series this time, from the vanilla 4G/LTE-only 40 powered by the Helio G99 "Ultimate" to the 40 Pro+ 5G, which runs on the same Dimensity 7020 as the Motorola Moto G54 5G that can be found on Amazon.
Each new Racing Edition is still finished in glass instead, albeit glass treated with an "advanced UV transfer printing" process rated to confer a subtle texture on the "sleek, streamlined lines" of the resulting Wings of Speed pattern.
The special-edition phones are also the only versions of the Note 40 handsets finished in silver. They can be ordered in an equally custom retail box that also contains Infinix' MagKit made up of a MagCase, a MagPad for the smartphones' up-to-20W wireless charging tech and the unusually thin MagPower wireless charging power bank.
The 100W Multi-Speed FastCharge power brick is also found in this box; alternatively, a full gift box with extra freebies such as BMW-themed glasses and a watch might also be available in some regions.
The latest Infinix x BMW DesignWorks smartphones have launched with a guide price of $209 for the Note 40 Racing Edition; $259 for its 5G counterpart; $279 for the Pro and $309 for the Pro 5G, whereas the Note 40 Pro 5G Racing Edition might go for the equivalent of $329 on its release.
