Leak reveals specs of upcoming HMD smartphone with a secondary display

HMD is yet to launch a new Pulse smartphone, since the series debuted in 2024. There were multiple reports of an HMD Pulse 2 series, but no new model has been released yet. Now, details of another second generation HMD Pulse smartphone, reported to be called the HMD Pulse 2T Pro, have surfaced.
The HMD Pulse 2T Pro is said to have a 6.68-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate according to a post on X by smashx_60. The source also mentions the phone will have an Helio G100 processor powering it. This chip, which has a 4G modem, powers multiple smartphones and tablets such as the Redmi Note 15 4G and the OnePlus Pad Lite.
The HMD Pulse 2T Pro will be available in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The phone is also reported to have a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS and an 8MP secondary camera, while the front-facing camera is another 50MP sensor.
The spec sheet also mentions a 6,000mAh battery, 33W wired charging, an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, MIL-STD-810H compliance, an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, and Android 17. However, the most interesting feature is what can be described as a secondary display on the back, akin to a miniature LED ticker display, and reminiscent of the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro (12GB + 256GB version available on Amazon for $509).
Leaked images of the HMD Pulse 2T Pro show this secondary display in action as it notifies the user of two unread messages/emails. The full capability of this rear display is not known, so we will have to wait until more details surface or until the phone is announced.
The HMD Pulse 2T Pro is expected to launch in Temper Blue, Titanium, and Orbit Green color options.
