Huawei releases new HarmonyOS 4.2 update for smartwatch

The Watch Fit 3 now has an enhanced calling experience “in certain situations”, according to Huawei. Unfortunately, further information has not been provided. Improvements have been made to some user interfaces; again, details as to what has changed are missing. On top of this, the release notes indicate that Huawei has improved the smartwatch’s stability, but where users may notice this remains unclear.

Users will be able to download this update from the Huawei Health app; it may not have reached all customers yet, as such updates typically roll out in phases. The company urges customers to use the latest app version before starting the installation process. Huawei also notes that the update for the Watch Fit 3 smartwatch may take some time, with the wearable restarting on completion. This is one of three recent updates for Huawei smartwatches, with new firmware also on the way to the Watch GT 3 Pro and the Watch Ultimate.
