GMKtec launching new high-end mini-PC with OCuLink or dual SSDs

GMKtec has begun teasing the release of a new mini-PC. For context, just over a month has passed since the company released the EVO-X5 Pro. Leveraging AMD's Gorgon Halo platform, the EVO-X5 Pro replaces the EVO-X2 that we reviewed and the newer EVO-X3. Unlike its Strix Halo counterparts, the EVO-X5 Pro can be configured with 192 GB of RAM for up to 160 GB of VRAM (curr. $7,999 on Amazon).
Now, it seems that GMKtec is preparing to return to an even smaller form factor than the EVO-X5 Pro, which measures 221 x 195 x 80 mm. Specifically, it has positioned 'the Next GMKtec Mini Pc' as being similar to the EVO-T2s, which comes in at 154 x 151 x 73.6 mm. A version of the EVO-T2, the T2S contains Intel's Panther Lake platform with the Core Ultra X7 358H, Arc B390 graphics and 64 GB RAM.
Also, the EVO-T2 series contains OcuLink expansion, which GMKtec has teased could be coming to its unnamed mini-PC too. Currently, the company suggests that the device will come in one of two configurations. On the one hand, the compact device could complement an OCuLink port with a single M.2 SSD.
On the other hand, GMKtec's other option is to integrate dual SSD slots. Theoretically, the latter should provide the unnamed mini-PC with up to 16 TB of storage. It is worth noting that GMKtec could achieve both options by including an OCuLink-M.2 adapter in the box, which would allow people to choose between a second SSD or OCuLink expansion. Unfortunately, no other details are known at this stage. One can vote for their preference either on X or on the company's Google Form.
