Apple Vision Pro arrives in China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore

Apple's spatial computing headset, the Vision Pro, has only been available in the US since its launch in February. Months later, it's finally coming to other key markets such as China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore in a move allowing Apple to grow its customer base, make the headset more popular and broaden its appeal.

As predicted, the Apple Vision Pro spatial computing headset just became available for purchase in a number of lucrative markets including mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore. Until now, the Vision Pro was limited to the United States, where the product went on sale in February.

A major expansion into Asian markets appears to be the way Apple chose to cement the Vision Pro's position as the default VR/AR headset and broaden the customer base. Apple needs this push to succeed due to a decline in U.S. sales, where demand for the $3,499 headset dropped after the initial rush. In Japan, the most affordable Vision Pro SKU with 256 GB of built-in storage currently sells for over $3,700 (599,800 yen).

Apple is considering entering other markets following this launch. It is known for certain that the Vision Pro will be available in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, and Germany from July 12. It remains to be seen if these steps will generate any additional interest and hype for the product.

The Vision Pro has been receiving mixed reviews. Many praised the hardware and the new possibilities that the headset brought to the table. Some aspects of the device, however, got plenty of criticism including its high weight and high price.
