macOS Sequoia introduces the Headphone Accommodations feature known from iPhone and iPad to Mac. Mac users can now personalize the sound of their AirPods and Beats headphones by optimizing for specific scenarios, adjusting amplification, and importing audiograms.

MacRumors has been exploring the latest macOS 15 developer beta, allowing them to discover a new feature in System Settings. Mac users can now customize their audio experience with AirPods or compatible Beats headphones (for those interested, the Beats Studio Pro is currently on sale at BestBuy for $249). This is possible using the new Headphone Accommodations feature, accessible under Accessibility →‬ Audio.

Headphone Accommodations is not a new concept for Apple devices; it was first introduced on iPhones and iPads in 2020 with iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. This feature caters to individuals with mild hearing loss or those who prefer enhanced quieter audio elements. Users can select from various amplification levels - slight, moderate, or strong - to increase the volume of softer sounds in music, podcasts, movies, and phone calls. It also allows for fine-tuning the audio balance to emphasize specific frequency ranges, which is beneficial for users with unique hearing sensitivities or preferences.

Currently available in the developer beta, macOS Sequoia is expected to enter public beta in July, with stable release anticipated in September or October.
