Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite release date revealed by new teaser
Even though Qualcomm showed off the Snapdragon X Elite last year at MWC (and a few times after that), the chip is yet to officially launch. It shouldn't be long before we see it in all its glory because Qualcomm just put out a teaser on X highlighting what could very likely be its new Arm-based laptop SoC.
Qualcomm plans to show off the Snapdragon X Elite on April 24. As noted by earlier leaks, the Snapdragon X Elite is not just one chip, but will consist of many SKUs. Some lower-specced models will launch with the Snapdragon X Plus monicker.
So far, the Snapdragon X Elite has managed to keep up with Intel, AMD and Apple's offerings. However, its ability to run Windows applications (games included) near natively is something to look forward to, especially when it is paired with a dGPU.
New Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 and ThinKPad T14s Gen6 variants showed up earlier this week- both powered by the Snapdragon X Elite. Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Book4 Edge is also slated to use the chip. Whether or not it will make a splash in the largely Intel-dominated laptop market remains to be seen.
