Acer has announced a new foray into the smart monitor market with a range of new 27- and 31.5-inch displays, some of which bear Nitro branding thanks to their 180Hz refresh rate spec. They are also Google TV screens for access to apps such as Netflix and YouTube, and support a productivity-friendly Multiview split-screen feature.

The latest series of Nitro monitors has FreeSync and G-SYNC - however, Acer has also used them to respond to Samsung's M8 series and LG's MyView line by also making them Google TV-capable.

As such, the new GA1 line supports features such as wireless casting, whereby their Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity kick in to help reduce cable load while still acting as an external display for the user's mobile device

Its GA321QU P (31.5-inch) and GA271U P (27-inch) variants are also touted to deliver ultra-low (albeit currently unspecified) latency, although their 250-nit brightness might leave a little to be desired.

They also share their fairly conventional, VESA-compatible monitor look, presented in white albeit without the tripod-style stand, with the new DA321QK and DA271K.

The non-gaming versions of the new smart monitor, known as the Acer DA1 series, upgrade to 4K panels but lack the 180Hz refresh rate spec of the GA1 series.

Accordingly, they are slated to start at $349 whereas the GA271U P will be $349, while the GA321QU P will go for $379 and the DA321QK for $399 on their release in the 4th quarter of 2024.
