XMG / Schenker is refreshing the EVO 14 ultrabook series with up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, plus brighter displays. The new EVO 14 E25 models still feature no dedicated GPU to keep the system weight under 1.5 kg, yet the Radeon 800M iGPUs are still decent for entry-level gaming and content creation, while the 50 TOPS NPU delivers a significant performance boost over the previous mobile chip generation.
Detailed specs
Besides the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with 12 cores / 24 threads, XMG also offers more affordable options like the AI 9 365 with 10 cores / 20 threads and the AI 7 350 with 8 cores / 16 threads, both featuring slightly slower iGPUs. These processors can be paired with up to 128 GB DDR5-5600 RAM and up to 16 TB of SSD storage via two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots.
The cooling system was updated to allow the processors to operate consistently at 65 watts. The highest performance profile, ‘Overboost’, delivers maximum performance. Below this, the ‘Enthusiast’ profile offers high performance with low fan noise. In the quietest profile, ‘Balanced’, the processor power limit is set to 25 watts for near-silent operation.
On the display side, the updated 14-inch LTPS IPS screens feature a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels with a 16:10 aspect ratio and are now brighter than the previous models with a 500 nits peak instead of 400 nits. The other specs are the same though, with 120 Hz refresh rate that can switch to 60 Hz for lower power consumption plus full 100% sRGB colour space coverage and AMD FreeSync support. Additionally, the XMG EVO 14 E25 is equipped with a Windows Hello-compatible Full HD webcam, complete with a physical privacy shutter positioned at the top of the screen.
Port selection is robust, especially for a 14-inch model. It includes a USB4 connector supporting DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR10, DP40), an additional USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port with DisplayPort 1.4a, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, and a USB 2.0 port. Moreover, there is an HDMI 2.1 port (32 Gbps), Gigabit LAN jack, a 2-in-1 audio jack for headset and microphone, and a fast SD Express-compatible card reader for full-size SD memory cards. Wireless connectivity is provided with a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 card. With the 80 Wh battery that is exclusively charged via USB-C, the new EVO 14 E25 measures 311 x 220 x 17 mm and weighs 1.45 kg.
Pricing
The base configuration of the XMG EVO 14 (E25), which integrates an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, 16 (2x8) GB DDR5-5600 RAM, a 500 GB SSS starts at €1,049, including 19% VAT. Users can upgrade to the Ryzen AI 9 365 for €125 or the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 for €290. The ultrabook is now available with either the Ryzen AI 7 350 or the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.
