Xiaomi has launched a new smart tower fan that can be used year-round. The Mijia DC Inverter Two-Season Fan can blow cool air, and also has a heating element that allows it double as a heater.

Xiaomi has launched a new tower fan under its Mijia brand, and it can blow cool and hot air, depending on a user's need. This allows it to double as a cooling fan during hot summer nights, and as a heater when it is cold.

Known as the Mijia DC Inverter Two-Season Fan (machine translated), the tower fan is cylindrical and sits on a flat round base with a 30cm diameter, so it doesn't take up much space. It is equipped with a 2200W Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) ceramic heating element and has a volume flow rate of 357 m³/h

The Mijia DC Inverter Two-Season Fan can blow cool air.

Available in Grey, Black, and White, the fan has a blowing range of up to 10 meters and an oscillation range of 150° when in cooling mode. However, the blowing range drops to 2 meters while the airflow angle reduces to just 20° when it works as a heater. Owners will be able to adjust the cooling airflow angle between 30° to 150°, and choose from 100 heating levels using the Mi Home app.

The Mijia DC Inverter Two-Season Fan has three blowing modes (normal/direct, natural, and sleep); an intelligent thermostat that can keep a room's temperature within a set range (18°C - 28°C); and a 12-hour timer. The touch controls are at the top, so there are no LEDs from the display shinning into your eyes. However, it doesn't have a remote control like the Dreo Tower Fan (curr. available on Amazon for $89.87)

The Mijia DC Inverter Two-Season Fan also has a screen that filters dust and hair, a child-lock function, overheating protection, and a fire retardant casing. Xiaomi says that the DC brushless motor, which uses high-quality copper wires, has a noise level as low as 38.4dB(A), so it shouldn't affect sleep.

The Mijia DC Inverter Two-Season Fan is available to buy now on the Youpin Store in China for CNY 799 (~$120/€107). It is not known if it will be available outside China.
