Survival horror game with 98% rating now free to claim via Epic Games

Epic Games Store users can now claim Sorry We’re Closed as part of the platform's regular Thursday giveaway. Released in 2024 by developer à la mode games and publisher Akupara Games, the survival horror title is available until November 5 via the store’s website and desktop application. Once redeemed, it remains in the user’s library permanently and so can be downloaded and played at a later date.

Players control Michelle, a young woman living in a rundown part of London whose life takes a disturbing turn after she is cursed by the Duchess, a powerful archdemon seeking her affection. Given just three days to fall in love with her captor or face death, Michelle must find a way to break the curse before time runs out. Certain decisions influence the direction of the narrative, affecting the lives of other characters and determining which of the game's multiple endings Michelle ultimately reaches.

The gameplay draws on retro horror, combining fixed-camera exploration with arcade-style first-person shooting. Players gather items and manage resources while navigating eerie environments. Optional tank controls are available for those seeking a traditional survival horror feel. On Steam, the game has an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating of 98%, based on more than 1,600 reviews. Although impressive, it is not a guarantee its mechanics will appeal to everyone.
