Deal | Survival horror game with 93% rating drops from $40 to $4 on Steam

The Outlast Trials is currently available for just $3.99 on Steam, representing a 90% discount from its regular $39.99 price. The sale gives horror fans a chance to pick up Red Barrels’ psychological survival horror game at its lowest price to date. Steam currently lists the game with a "Very Positive" rating, with 93% of 42,000+ English-language reviews giving their recommendation.
Fully released in 2024 following an Early Access launch in 2023, The Outlast Trials acts as a prequel to Outlast and Outlast 2. Set during the Cold War, it puts players in the role of test subjects forced to participate in dangerous experiments at the Sinyala Facility. The game can be played alone or cooperatively with up to four players, with progression built around completing trials while avoiding enemies and environmental hazards.
Rather than focusing on direct combat, The Outlast Trials emphasizes stealth, evasion and resource management. Players can use equipment and special abilities to survive increasingly difficult trials, while completing objectives earns experience and unlocks further abilities and upgrades. As previously mentioned, the 90% discount runs until October 8.
