During Sony's Days of Play event, the DualSense controller is enjoying an unusual discount. However, Costco's bundle may be more tempting since it adds the first-party charging station. The PS5 controller offers dynamic haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Accessories are not immune to economic conditions that have made gaming a more expensive hobby. The DualSense controller has avoided major price increases, but gamers fear inevitable adjustments. In a Costco deal, buyers can purchase the white controller with the official Sony PS5 charging station at a discount. For $70, PlayStation fans can conveniently replenish DualSense power levels. As usual with Costco promotions, buyers must have a membership to access the full savings.
Gamers argue about whether the DualSense or Xbox Core controller is superior. While Microsoft's peripheral enjoys multi-platform compatibility, the PS5 controller boasts several innovative features. Its haptic feedback is more nuanced than typical vibration motors, with a broader range of responses during gameplay. Meanwhile, adaptive triggers can replicate the forces experienced when pulling back on a bow or driving a race car. Microsoft may match these capabilities with three controllers rumored to be in development.

The short battery life of the DualSense is a common criticism of the controller. With sometimes less than eight hours of playtime, gamers look for recharging solutions. The Costco sale includes Sony's PS5 charging station, which normally retails for $29.99. Buyers will find affordable third-party alternatives, but not all match the contours and style of the DualSense. Up to two PS5 controllers fit in the accessory, which also frees up valuable USB ports on the console.
As part of Days of Play, Sony slashed the price of many of its consoles and accessories. If a buyer would rather purchase the DualSense controller alone, it's on sale at many retailers for around $55. Gamers can also choose from a variety of colors, like Volcanic Red. Still, the Costco bundle with charging station is only $15 more. The store also lists a Starlight Blue version of the package deal for $69.99
