Nintendo announces rare Switch 2 console bundle with a third-party game

So far, Switch 2 bundles have mostly featured first-party Nintendo games like Mario Kart World. Recently, the company has begun to introduce more region-specific console configurations. The latest option targets Brazil and other Latin American countries, and ships with a digital version of EA Sports FC 27.

Daniel Reenlsober shared the Nintendo reveal on social media. While it doesn't have a distinctive box design, the soccer title's logo appears on the package. The Switch 2 EA Sports FC 27 bundle is set for an October 15th release date and carries an MSRP of R$4,699.

Not a bargain

As in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, Latin America saw a price increase for the Nintendo console on September 1st. The new SKU costs over $900 when converted from Brazilian real to USD, but follows domestic pricing. Reenlsober notes that it’s slightly cheaper than the Mario Kart World and the upcoming Switch Sports Resort alternatives.

The soccer-focused handheld isn’t the only bundle to promote a third-party Switch 2 game. On December 4th, the gaming giant will release a Monster Hunter Wilds offering in its home country. Just as the Capcom series is a popular attraction in Japan, FC 27 promises to be a top seller in Brazil.

A port with compromises

EA’s annual sports franchise also enjoys a passionate following in Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia. In recent years, the title has been developed to improve console parity with PS5 and Xbox. That includes multiplayer modes like the open-world hub called The Grounds.

Unfortunately, some features don't offer cross-play, which restricts matchmaking to a smaller, handheld-specific player base. Reviews also confirmed that performance is again limited to 30 fps in both portable and docked modes. Regardless, the hardware has an advantage, since the Steam Deck does not support EA's anti-cheat system.

Even though the game is sought-after in Europe, Nintendo has not announced a Switch 2 bundle with EA Sports FC 27 for this region. Still, buyers satisfied with the original Switch appreciated a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe arrival at an affordable €199.99 price.
