A new, relatively compact e-bike promises particularly low-maintenance operation and is designed to be especially well suited to urban mobility. Available directly from the manufacturer in several European countries, the Reany C1 already comes equipped with lights and mudguards.

The Reany C1 2027 is marketed by its manufacturer as a practical e-bike for everyday urban commutes—a claim that holds up well on paper. However, it deviates from typical city and trekking e-bike configurations by omitting a luggage rack, meaning standard panniers cannot be used out of the box. That said, both front and rear racks can be retrofitted, while a kickstand, mudguards, and integrated lights are included as standard equipment.

Powering the Reany C1 is a rear-hub motor—a standard choice for this category—delivering up to 38 Nm of torque. The removable battery has a modest 360 Wh capacity, which should be sufficient for routine city rides. A notable trade-off is the single-speed setup: instead of standard gears, the e-bike uses a low-maintenance belt drive. While the hub motor helps smooth out acceleration, the lack of gearing places greater demand on the drive system during steep inclines.

Rolling on compact 20-inch wheels front and rear, the e-bike tips the scales at 18.3 kg. It features a rigid front fork rather than a suspension fork, which saves weight but reduces overall damping on rougher roads. Stopping power is provided by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm rotors. The Reany C1 is currently priced at €2,299, and the manufacturer is active not only in Germany but also in other European markets.
