Bossa Studios has released Lost Skies: Island Creator, a free tool offering an early look at its upcoming co-operative survival game. With strong early feedback and full Steam Workshop support, it provides players with hands-on access to the game’s creative systems ahead of its 18 April 2025 launch.

Lost Skies, the upcoming co-operative survival game from Bossa Studios, is preparing to launch in Early Access on 18 April 2025 via Steam. Ahead of the full release, the studio has made its standalone Island Creator tool available to download for free, with no logins, paywalls or microtransactions.

The Island Creator announcement describes the tool as an early look at the game’s full creative framework. Players can sculpt floating terrain, design puzzles, and experiment with environmental storytelling. Full Steam Workshop integration allows users to share their islands with the wider community.

To support the launch, Bossa Studios released a two-part developer showcase on YouTube. The first part is available here and the second part is available here. Lead Game Designer Luke Williams and Principal Developer Tom Jackson walk players through real-time gameplay, demonstrating how the Island Creator works in practice. From terrain shaping to traversal mechanics, both videos offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creative vision behind Lost Skies.

Initial player feedback has been encouraging. On Reddit, players have expressed excitement over the tool’s robustness and its potential for co-op gameplay, praising the freedom in designing sky islands.

Once released, Lost Skies will support up to six players and focus on exploration, skyship construction, and co-operative traversal. Players will glide, grapple, and climb their way across an airborne world built on mystery and ancient technology.

While Lost Skies will be a paid title upon release, the Island Creator remains free for now, offering a rare opportunity to get hands-on with the tools and systems before the full experience launches.
