iPhone Duo problems have been great news for Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8

The iPhone Duo launch has been an interesting one for Apple and its customers. Numerous reports of the screen cracking have fueled the “crackgate” phenomenon that Apple is now dealing with, though it claims only a small number of users have faced such issues. With Apple now also struggling to meet the demand, a report claims that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 has become the go-to for a lot more people.
The report from Korean publication Herald Business states that sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 have increased by more than 20% in a week. This uptick has come about since the iPhone Duo was made available to the public, which was last week. This is in part due to the durability issues iPhone Duo users have been facing, as well as Samsung’s promotions that make the Galaxy Z Fold 8 a much better deal. At least that seems to be the case for the Korean market.
As per a report from late last month, Apple was apparently a bit lax with its quality control for the iPhone Duo. It did so in order to meet the demand seamlessly. However, that seems to have backfired as multiple users have reported cracked screens and are looking for replacements. Furthermore, in an interview with Reuters (via Android Headlines), Apple’s new CEO John Ternus stated that the company does not know when it will be able to ensure a seamless supply for the iPhone Duo.
Memory prices and supply chain issues are to be blamed for the limited units of the iPhone Duo. Regardless, “crackgate” and supply issues are pulling more customers towards Samsung’s foldable. And Samsung hasn’t been shy about making fun of the iPhone Duo’s problems.
