Deal | HP's latest MacBook Neo rival with 14-inch OLED display and 41 hours battery life drops to $399.99

The HP OmniBook 3 with Snapdragon X was already a more affordable Windows alternative to the MacBook Neo, starting at $599.99. Best Buy has now cut $200 from all configurations, bringing the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage down to $399.99. That's $300 less than the MacBook Neo, which starts at $699.99 with the same amount of RAM and storage.
That said, the 8GB RAM is arguably more of a compromise than on the Neo, as Windows can be more memory-hungry than macOS. For smoother multitasking, we recommend upgrading to the 16GB model, which is now discounted to $499.99. Even the configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage comes in at $599.99, still $100 cheaper than the base Neo.
The Snapdragon X processor won’t win any performance benchmarks, but it should be sufficient for everyday tasks and web browsing. HP rates the OmniBook 3 for up to 41 hours and 45 minutes of battery life, meaning it should get you through a school or workday of light use without needing a recharge. Additionally, it weighs 3.13 pounds and comes with a lightweight GaN charger, making it easy to carry to work or school.
Compared with other affordable Windows laptops like the $699.99 Dell XPS 13, the OmniBook 3 may feel a bit cheaper since it is made mostly of plastic. However, it does offer a few advantages. For one, it comes with an OLED display for richer colors and brilliant contrast. HP also packs plenty of ports, including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and a headphone jack.
