Honor launches affordable tablet with 9.7-inch 2K display and 8,000mAh battery

Honor has started selling the Tablet X10 Mini in China. Its specifications closely match those of the Honor Pad X7b, which we previously covered following its launch in Saudi Arabia.
The Honor Tablet X10 Mini has a 9.7-inch LCD with a resolution of 2,052 × 1,152 pixels, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. Honor also lists 100% sRGB color coverage. The display is covered by strengthened glass designed to improve resistance to scratches and drops.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2, which we reviewed, offers a 120Hz refresh rate compared with 90Hz on the Honor Tablet X10 Mini, while retaining the same 9.7-inch screen size.
Unlike the Saudi Arabia version, which is listed with 4GB of RAM, the Chinese model is also available with 6GB of RAM. Both configurations have 128GB of internal storage, which Honor says can be expanded by up to 2TB, although the company does not explicitly confirm whether this requires a microSD card. The tablet also supports up to 4GB of virtual RAM allocated from internal storage.
The Saudi Arabia model is powered by the Snapdragon 685, an entry-level SoC, but the processor used in the Chinese version remains unconfirmed.
The tablet has an 8,000mAh battery. According to Honor's promotional material, it can provide up to 16 hours of video playback, 122 hours of music playback and 82 days of standby time. These are manufacturer estimates rather than independent test results.
The tablet has a metal body, measures 235.37 × 141.43 × 8.48mm (9.27 × 5.57 × 0.33 inches) and weighs 447g (15.77oz). Both the front and rear cameras have a 5MP resolution.
Honor also lists SGS five-star certification for drop and pressure resistance, as well as MIL-STD-810H certification for durability.
