GTA 6 like Cyberpunk 2077? Video imagines a bug-ridden launch

Anyone who remembers the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 probably doesn't want to imagine GTA 6 suffering a similar fate. Yet that's exactly the scenario depicted in a fan-made video currently making the rounds on Reddit. Created by YouTuber Skill Issue, the clip was shared on the platform by u/Jealous-Beautiful599.
If GTA 6 Launches like CyberPunk 2077

The video takes familiar GTA 6 footage and turns it into a parade of bizarre glitches. It opens with a heavily distorted intro before things quickly go off the rails. A car sinks into the ground, Lucia spins uncontrollably through the air during a parachute jump and Jason's head suddenly appears without the rest of his body. Toward the end, several bikers ride around on seemingly invisible motorcycles, while Jason lights the cigar of Brian Heder, who is already engulfed in flames.
Many fans doubt Rockstar would let things get this bad
The absurd parody has gone down well on Reddit, although many users find it hard to imagine GTA 6 actually launching in such a state. "This is hilarious but Rockstar would never let that shit happen to them," writes u/Walmart_Prices, receiving plenty of agreement from other commenters.
Several users point to the Extended Look as a reason for their confidence, noting that Rockstar says the footage was captured entirely on a PS5. Cyberpunk 2077, meanwhile, ran into particularly severe problems on the last-generation PS4 and Xbox One at launch. Developer CD Projekt later acknowledged that the game had not been sufficiently optimized for those consoles. GTA 6, by contrast, is launching exclusively on Sony's and Microsoft's current-generation hardware, giving some fans reason to believe that a similarly troubled release is unlikely.
Others are less willing to give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt. They point to previous releases that also suffered from technical problems at launch. "Hell even GTA IV was awful on launch," writes u/orphantwin. That said, Rockstar has never faced a launch disaster quite on the scale of Cyberpunk 2077. Whether GTA 6 (available for pre-order on Amazon) will live up to fans' expectations in terms of technical polish remains to be seen when it launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19.
