Casio’s new made-in-Japan sushi G-Shocks launch in the EU, but the pricing order flips

Casio has put its sushi-themed G-Shocks on its European stores, nearly a month after the three watches went on sale in Japan alone. The German, Spanish and Dutch sites now list the GA-2100SSH-4A at 129 euros, the DW-5600SSH-4 at 139 euros and the DW-6900SSH-1 at 149 euros, all including VAT.
However, none of them can be bought yet. Every page is marked for Casio ID members only and carries a notify-me button rather than a cart, with no release date attached. Casio’s UK site does not list the series at all.
The European prices reorder the lineup. In Japan the GA-2100SSH is the most expensive of the three at 21,450 yen and the DW-5600SSH the cheapest at 19,250 yen. Europe basically inverts that ranking. Cutting Germany’s 19% VAT and Japan’s 10% consumption tax out, the GA-2100SSH comes out marginally cheaper in Europe at about $122 against $124. The two digital models go the other way and cost roughly 18% and 20% more than they do in Japan.
The watches are otherwise unchanged. All three are built at Yamagata Casio and finished with sushi detailing: a translucent red case and tuna-flesh dial pattern on the DW-5600SSH, a nori-black bezel over a white inner band on the DW-6900SSH, and a fatty-salmon dial with knife-shaped hands on the GA-2100SSH. Casebacks show an engraved teacup referencing the agari served at the end of a sushi meal. Also each watch ships in a folding souvenir box.
Casio’s European pages do add one line: the resin on all three is bio-based. The European references also drop the JR suffix the Japanese ones carry as expected. Casio has not said whether the series is capped in Europe, as it is in Japan.
