ASUS has introduced plenty of unusual devices of late, including the dual-screen Zenbook Duo UX8406 (curr. $1,499.99 on Amazon). On the face of it, the ZenScreen Duo OLED MQ149CD resembles its Zenbook counterpart, particularly in the image reproduced above. However, the MQ149CD is merely a portable monitor, as its 'ZenScreen' branding implies.
As a result, the ZenScreen Duo OLED MQ149CD must be connected to a device before it will become usable, contrary to what ASUS' product image above suggests. According to ITHome, it will be possible to pair the portable monitor to a laptop or equivalent device through HDMI or USB Type-C ports. For reference, the website adds that the ZenScreen Duo OLED MQ149CD has one of the former and two of the latter that both support DisplayPort Alt Mode.
Moreover, the ZenScreen Duo OLED MQ149CD possesses a 360° hinge that allows it to be used in landscape or portrait mode with a dedicated kickstand. On top of that, ASUS claims that the portable monitor weighs about 700 g, despite containing a pair of 14-inch OLED panels. While the company has not confirmed pricing or availability yet, it has revealed that each panel outputs at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio for a combined 21-inch canvas.
