The Redmi K100 Pro Max is now official in China, and this flagship phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Xiaomi has paired it with a large 9,070mAh battery and a display with a 185Hz refresh rate. The starting launch price is around $623.

After weeks of teasers, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K100 Pro Max. It’s standing as a performance-focused phone with a fast display, a large battery, and a capable camera setup.

Specifically, it features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the current top-end SoC from Qualcomm. It’s paired with the in-house D2 chipset, and per Xiaomi, this combination offers enhanced gaming performance, with better anti-aliasing and better image quality.

There’s no active cooler, unlike the Redmi K90 Max, but Xiaomi notes that the flagship phone has a rather large 6,300mm² VC cooling setup. The display is geared for high-performance gaming as well.

To be precise, the Redmi K100 Pro Max sports a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate, which offers it an edge over the RedMagic 11S Pro. This screen has a resolution of 2608x1200 pixels, Dolby Vision support, and a touch sampling rate of up to 4800Hz.

The 9,070mAh battery is another highlight of this new Xiaomi phone. It’s a proper step up over the K90 Pro Max, and there’s support for 100W fast charging through wired mode (Anker 240W 6-feet cable curr. $26.59 on Amazon) and 50W wirelessly. The phone also supports 27W reverse wired and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.

As for the camera setup, the rear sports a 200MP primary camera with a 24mm focal length and a 1/1.56-inch sensor size. It’s paired with a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide. That is, the primary sensor has seen a notable upgrade over the predecessor, and per the samples shared by Xiaomi, it seems that the phone is capable of taking detail-rich shots.

A powerful 2.1 speaker setup with Sound by Bose, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and dual-chip signal enhancement are among the other notable aspects of the phone. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K100 Pro Max in China with a starting price of CNY 4,199, around $623. This configuration comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-end option with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage retails for CNY 5,999, about $889. Global launch details are yet to be confirmed by the company.
