The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are expected to launch around September. Both phones are now tipped to arrive with wholesale camera upgrades, with both the main and zoom cameras set to get more powerful sensors.

Xiaomi will launch its next-gen flagship Xiaomi 18 series later in the year, likely kicking things off with a September launch in China. The phones will succeed the Xiaomi 17 series, and new reports indicate they could get rather significant upgrades.

As shared by leaker Kartikey Singh, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are set to arrive with 200 MP periscope zoom cameras. Interestingly, that also indicates that Xiaomi will be continuing with the "Pro Max" model, supported by the introduction of other "Pro Max" devices like the Poco X8 Pro Max and Redmi K90 Pro Max.

Back to cameras, the leaker doesn't confirm what sensor exactly the 200 MP one mooted is. In all likelihood, however, it'll be the same 1/1.4-inch sensor on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, or perhaps the 1/1.56-inch ISOCELL HP5. Either way, it'd be a serious upgrade over the 1/1.95-inch 50 MP sensor behind the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max's periscope lens. In addition, both phones will also get better optics for 15cm macro shots.

The main sensor on the Xiaomi 18 Pro phones are set to get an upgrade as well, with the source claiming the phones will similarly get 200 MP main cameras. The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max are equipped with 1/1.28-inch 50 MP snappers, though, so it'll be interesting to see what sensor Xiaomi opts for.
