Vivo X300 Ultra hands-on: Zeiss camera even thicker than on Vivo X200 Ultra

Only a few hours remain before the Vivo X300 Ultra becomes officially available in China. In Europe, it is expected to take only a few more days, and official euro pricing as well as initial prices from import retailers have already appeared online. In China especially, social media already features plenty of hands-on images that show significantly better quality than those from a few days ago, particularly since the new Zeiss camera flagship is already on display in some Vivo stores and mobile phone shops. Below, we have included a selection of photos from Weibo that already provide a fairly good impression of the upcoming Vivo flagship.
Direct comparison with the Vivo X200 Ultra
Initial comparison images are also already available, for example alongside the direct predecessor, which was only officially sold in China. In addition to the very similar camera module and the now flat display instead of a quad-curved one, the comparison highlights one thing in particular: the camera bump has become a bit thicker again. This is especially clear in the last photo.
Zeiss camera thicker than the Vivo X300 Ultra body
This suggests that the camera module is now thicker than the rest of the smartphone for the first time, at least based on measurements taken from a render image. Since Vivo lists the body itself at 8.19 mm in official teasers, the camera module is likely around 17 mm thick overall.
