After Vivo revealed many of the specs and features of its upcoming Zeiss camera flagships back in September and released official press photos, the tech press has been focusing more on the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Pro based on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, as well as the OnePlus 15. However, the Dimensity 9500 flagships, the Oppo Find X9 Pro and Vivo X300 Pro, will also be launched in just a few days, and the former is expected to get a global launch soon thereafter.
The Vivo X300 Pro appears to be getting a launch in certain countries outside of China this year, such as in Malaysia, where it was recently discovered at a certification body. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that the successor to the Vivo X200 Pro will also be available in Europe in just a few weeks, but at least it will be possible to import the global model from other countries, such as Hong Kong.
Vivo X300 Pro hands-on and unboxing with Zeiss camera kit
Those searching for the Vivo X300 Pro on the Chinese network Weibo will not only find a ton of camera samples (see below) and hands-on images, but also the first unboxing and hands-on videos, such as the one below, which unpacks the complete package, including the camera kit and the Zeiss teleconverter. The latter appears to be technically identical to the one already available for the Vivo X200 Ultra, transforming the 85mm telephoto lens into a 200mm equivalent telephoto lens, which guarantees better quality, especially for distant objects, than the pure AI-based digital zoom.
Vivo X300 Pro test videos confirm some specs
Another video (see below) on Weibo puts the Dimensity 9500 flagships through their paces. We have uploaded the video in 4K quality to YouTube, but it is in Chinese without subtitles. Nevertheless, some things are self-explanatory, such as the brief comparison with the Vivo X200 Pro at the beginning. Some specs are also confirmed, such as the dimensions of 7.99 mm for the thickness of the Vivo X300 Pro and 226 grams for the weight. Initial Dimensity 9500 test results indicate more than 1 million points more in AnTuTu v11 compared to the Vivo X200 Pro, an increase of almost 40%.
According to testers, substantially better results of around 30 to 40% can also be expected in Geekbench and 3DMark Steel Nomal Light. In addition to several other tests that are particularly relevant for gamers, this and other test videos also confirm some of the specifications of the Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro. The Vivo X300 has a 6,040 mAh battery, while the Pro model has a 6,510 mAh battery, both of which can be charged at a maximum of 90 watts via USB-C. However, as its predecessor has already shown, the global model may once again feature a smaller battery, especially in the model for the European market.
New Vivo X300 Pro Zeiss camera samples
New photos taken with the Zeiss camera can also be found on Weibo. The 21 photos begin with two impressive telephoto macro shots. Next, the Chinese National Day celebrations take centre stage in a series of night-time portraits, which were probably taken using the new zoom flash. Last but not least, there are several photos taken around the reopening of the Huajiang Canyon Bridge, currently the highest bridge in the world. Incidentally, some of these photos were taken using the Zeiss teleconverter, as can be read on Weibo.
