Scheduled to arrive officially in September, the next-gen Mini Cooper Electric has been recently spotted in traffic. The images shared by CAR Magazine show the interior of the upcoming electric vehicle, revealing that the infotainment system's display is a circular touchscreen similar to that used in the original concept and in last year's Mini Cooper Electric.
However, the old-school climate controls, which are located below the circular touchscreen, occupy less vertical space in the 2024 Mini Cooper Electric than in the model currently on the market. Since there are a few months left until its official unveil, it is also possible that the market version of the car will be slightly different than the one spotted by CAR Magazine, which could be a working prototype.
According to the same source mentioned above, there are no big exterior changes. While maintaining the overall look that was introduced over two decades ago with the first-generation Mini R50, the upcoming 2024 Mini Cooper Electric features triangular rear lamps and a mono-panel grille with old-school oval headlights.
As previously revealed by BMW, the next-gen Cooper E will come with a 40 kWh battery and a 200-mile range, while the more potent Cooper SE will sport a 54 kWh powerpack and will provide a typical range of 250 miles. Although they will be unveiled in September 2023, the first cars will reach their owners in early 2024, most likely in February or March.
