Well-known Japanese brand Galleria has unveiled the NSC5L laptop equipped with up to 32 GB of RAM and a 12-core Intel CPU. The lightweight laptop weighs in at just around 2.2 lbs, and features upgradable M.2 storage.

Prominent Tokyo-based computer hardware brand Galleria has revealed the NSC5L-IG-C4 laptop. While the name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, the laptop does feature a healthy array of attractive specifications, including a lightweight design.

At its core, the Galleria NSC5L laptop is equipped with a relatively powerful Intel Core Ultra 5 125U CPU paired with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 2 TB of NVMe storage. Unlike the RAM, which is not upgradable, the storage can easily be upgraded via the laptop's M.2 slot.

The Core Ultra 5 125U Meteor Lake U chip features a 12-core setup consisting of two performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and two more low-power efficiency cores. Compared to newer CPUs such as the Core Ultra 5 325 "Panther Lake" chip, the 125U should be around 15% to 20% slower. In simpler terms, the majority of moderately intensive CPU-based workloads should be easily doable on the system.

The laptop features a silver colorway and a minimal design.

The laptop is quite lightweight, tipping the scales at just 2.2 lbs. or 1 kg.

The 4-core Intel iGPU is not exactly a benchmarking champ, but should still be able to command a 10% lead over the Radeon 840M iGPU found in many mid-range laptops. Lightweight GPU-based workloads should run fine, including some older games at modest settings.

The laptop also comes equipped with a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 matte LCD display with a claimed 95% coverage of the sRGB color gamut. The laptop features a lightweight chassis that weighs in at just 1 kg, or roughly 2.2 lbs. The I/O on offer is pretty decent and has been detailed below:

  • Dual USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C with DisplayPort 1.4, 65 W Power Delivery
  • Single USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
  • HDMI 1.4
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • WiFi 6e, Bluetooth 5.4

The base variant of the Galleria NSC5L laptop with 16 GB RAM and 500 GB of storage is priced at just under ¥150,000, or roughly $949. Doubling the storage bumps the price to around ¥200,000, or roughly $1,265.

Galleria primarily serves the Japanese market and does not have a retail presence elsewhere. Customers in the U.S. who want an affordable laptop with similar specs can check out the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i laptop currently available for $937.

The laptop features a healthy array of ports, including two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort capabilities.
