A high-mileage Tesla Model S owned by taxi service owner Paul Curzon has hit a mind-boggling 430,000 miles on the odometer while facing only 65 miles of range loss from its original battery. Paul claims that the car has never required a service, and apart from minor aesthetic damages, the car has held up impressively well despite the heavy use and 8 years of age.

In an attempt to demonstrate the longevity and long-term reliability of EVs, a recent video from the well-known automotive YouTube channel "AutoTrader" has highlighted one of the highest mileage electric cars in the UK - A Tesla Model S with an amazing 430,000 miles on the odometer. Owned and operated by taxi service owner Paul Curzon who is also a self-proclaimed Tesla fanatic, this vehicle serves as a trophy for the durability and practicality of electric cars.

The Model S was bought new by Paul Curzon almost 8 years ago primarily for his airport taxi service, as stated before. Although fears of battery degradation over time are perfectly legitimate and rational, this Model S, according to Paul, suffers from a loss of only 65 miles, an impressive number considering the ridiculous 430,000 miles that the car has been driven over 8 years.

He also adds that the car's performance has remained potent, even though the car has not been serviced even once in its 8 years of ownership. This is in stark contrast to ICE vehicles which often require regular and expensive maintenance. According to Paul, preventive maintenance alone has been enough to keep the car in working order.

As far as his charging and usage habits are concerned, the car is supercharged several times a day to be able to keep up with his business's requirements, contrary to concerns regarding fast charging damaging the battery. Paul's usual taxi routes include a mix of motorways, A-roads (major roads in the UK), and B-roads (secondary roads in the UK), covering considerable distances almost on a daily basis. Despite this, the car's build quality has held rather well, apart from a few aesthetic issues including a few stone chips here and there along with some wear on interior components.

Luckily for us, Paul has agreed to hand his Model S over to AutoTrader's Rory for thorough inspection and testing. Rory has teased that his findings will be posted in the upcoming weeks as part of an ongoing series, which will test the car's range, battery health, and overall performance in depth. And it goes without saying, we will be sure to post any upcoming updates and revelations from the series.
