Switch 2 datamining efforts reveal a total of 13 Bloodsworn in FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods

Earlier this week, the homebrew community made a breakthrough: they hacked and jailbroke the Nintendo Switch 2. This breakthrough came about 1.5 years after the Switch 2 launched in June 2025. The jailbreak exploit lets users install homebrew apps and tools, as well as mod games.
Another activity this jailbreak enables, which greatly benefits all Nintendo fans, is data mining. By dumping the ROM files of any game the community owns, they can extract the game files and scour them for an overview of canceled content and features the release build didn't include. Data mining can also reveal unused assets or features that haven't been implemented yet, hinting at future updates or DLC plans.
The Duskbloods: A complete character list?
FromSoftware’s upcoming title, The Duskbloods, is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, much to its fans' chagrin. Moreover, FromSoftware has been very restrained with information about the game, with barely any promotional posts, ads, or showcases beyond the reveal trailer a year ago and another trailer a few months back.
A closed network test took place in the last week of August, giving fans their first taste of what gameplay in FromSoftware’s latest offering would be like. Fans learned that the game would follow in Elden Ring Nightreign’s footsteps as a multiplayer experience, with most labeling it as a PvPvE game. Since the network test, no other information has been revealed, leaving fans to wonder whether it will launch within its promised 2026 release window, especially as the year draws to a close.
Thanks to data mining made possible by the Switch 2 jailbreak, new information about The Duskbloods is emerging, including a planned total of 13 playable characters known as “the Bloodsworn”. The network test featured only 6 playable characters, though FromSoftware promised more in the final release. The data-mined information is available in a public Google Sheets file first posted on the Duskbloods subreddit.
Weapon names only for now
Interestingly, instead of the Bloodsworn’s names, the files list only their weapons, as Reddit user “NeedleKnightLenny” pointed out. Lenny pointed out that the files list “Golden Scarab”, which clearly represents Layla. Additionally, Lenny notes that one character’s weapon is listed as the Nike Wheel Spear, which a mini-boss enemy wielded in the network test. Regardless, fans will have to wait for the game's release to get answers to all their questions. However, the game seems unlikely to release this year, given the lack of communication and the looming release of blockbuster titles like GTA VI and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake.
