Steam Machine launch on June 29 or earlier – FCC data offers concrete clues

Speculation surrounding Valve’s upcoming Steam Machine continues to build. After fans recently focused on import records, Reddit user u/wayTooManyBugs instead examined public regulatory filings for Valve hardware and found what may be a concrete indication that the Steam Machine could launch on or before June 29. The theory is based on a comparison between the regulatory filings for the Steam Controller and those for the Steam Machine.
While reviewing the Steam Controller entries, the Redditor noticed that the user manual and several product photos were not made public until May 20, 2026 – after the device had already gone on sale. The regulatory documents themselves, however, had been filed much earlier, on November 24, 2025. Valve also submitted the Steam Machine’s regulatory documents toward the end of 2025. The key detail: the publication date for the Steam Machine’s user manual and product photos is already listed as June 29.

The theory is simple: if Valve follows the same approach with the Steam Machine as it did with the Steam Controller, and only publishes the manual and product photos after launch, the Steam Machine could arrive before June 29. The analysis has not yet gained much traction on Reddit, but the comments so far are positive. The top reply in the thread reads: “This some good stuff right here!” For now, this remains pure speculation. However, given Valve’s recent confirmation that the Steam Machine is scheduled to launch this summer, the theory does not seem far-fetched. For many fans, though, the release date is not the biggest concern. Following the recent Steam Deck price increase, pricing remains the main worry.
