Seiko kept the green Alpinist GMT exclusive to Japan, as the SBEJ005, from October 2023 until this year.
Seiko's green-dial Prospex Alpinist GMT, reference HBC007, is now sold in the US after debuting in Japan three years ago. The watch pairs a 39.5mm stainless steel case and 200m water resistance with the Caliber 6R54 GMT movement, a 24-hour bezel, and an internal compass ring.

Seiko's green-dial Prospex Alpinist GMT is now on sale in the US, almost three years after the watch first appeared as a Japan-only model. The reference HBC007, listed under Seiko's Prospex Land range, retails for $1,150 through the company's American online store and authorized dealers. The HBC007 is the international edition of the SBEJ005, which Seiko released in Japan on October 7, 2023, as an exclusive for its Seiko Global Brand Core Shops.

Details of a global release surfaced in June, when the Japan-based watch account plus9time shared the HBC007 reference on Instagram. Seiko added the watch to its permanent Prospex catalogue rather than issuing it as a limited edition. UK retailers opened orders at £1,100 ahead of July deliveries, and Seiko's Australian boutique lists it at A$1,800. Stock is now reaching authorized retailers across the US.

The US price sits $250 above the standard time-and-date Alpinist.

The watch uses a 39.5mm stainless steel case that measures 46.4mm from lug to lug and 13.6mm thick, finished with Seiko's super-hard coating. It is rated to 200m of water resistance, and a curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface covers the dial. A display caseback exposes the movement. The brown leather strap, sourced from an LWG-certified tannery, fits 20mm lugs and closes with a stainless-steel folding clasp.

Its dial carries a forest-green sunburst finish with gold-tone cathedral hands and applied markers, with numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12. The standard Alpinist places numerals at every even hour. Seiko positions the date window at 4:30 without a magnifier, and LumiBrite coats the hands and hour markers. The Prospex "X" emblem sits beneath the Seiko logo in place of the italic Alpinist script, which returned to the standard model in 2025.

A forest-green sunburst dial with gold-tone hands and markers sits inside a 39.5mm steel case rated to 200m.

A gold GMT hand with a red arrow tip reads against a 24-hour scale engraved into the fixed steel bezel. The crown at 4 o'clock turns an internal compass ring finished in green with a white track and red accents, the same arrangement used on the black and blue Alpinist GMT models.

Inside is the Caliber 6R54, an automatic movement with manual winding and hacking seconds. It beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour across 24 jewels and holds roughly three days of power reserve. Seiko rates its accuracy at +25 to −15 seconds per day. The 24-hour hand is set independently of the hour and minute hands.

Seiko introduced the mechanical Alpinist GMT in October 2023 with the blue SPB377 and black SPB379, which launched at the same US price as the HBC007. Earlier dual-time Alpinists used quartz movements. The green model costs $250 more than the standard time-and-date Alpinist.

Green is the color most closely tied to the Alpinist, largely through the SARB017, a discontinued reference that built much of the line's following among collectors. The HBC007 adds that color as the third standard dial in the international Alpinist GMT range.
